Debra Groesser will have a solo exhibition opening at Mountainsong Galleries in Carmel CA next Fri 5/14 7 to 9pm. Show runs through June 13th. Also Larry, Mike and I are in the Carmel Art Festival May 13 to 16th. Greg LaRock and Ned Mueller were in the OPA National Juried Exhibition. I will be in the Door County Plein Air Festival July 19 to 26 in Door County Wisconsin. I will have three paintings in the Plein Air Artists Colorado Juried Members Exhibition June 25 to July 10 at Saks Galleries in Denver. Opening reception June 25th.

I just found another newsworthy event. Deb Groesser and I both have two painitngs each that will be part of PaintAmericas first art auction of past winners in their two Top 100 Competitions: Paint America Top 100 and National Paint The Parks Top 100. This auction will be held at the Colcord Hotel, 15 N Robinson Ave, Downtown Oklahoma City, OK on April 23 and 24, 2010. Bids are accepted on-line at www.proxibid.com/paintamerica. Seventy-five paintings will be part of this first ever event.

Debra Groesser, Mike Bagdonas and Larry Moore have all been juried into the 2010 Carmel Art Festival, which will be held May 13th to 16th in Carmel, California. All three won awards in the 2009 festival. For complete information visit www.carmelartfestival.org.
Mountainsong Galleries in Carmel, California is hosting a solo exhibition of oil paintings by Debra Joy Groesser. "California Dreamin" will feature approximately 30 new and recent paintings, both plein air and studio work. The exhibition will run from May 14th to June 13th. Opening reception will be Friday, May 14, from 7 to 9 pm at the gallery, located on Ocean Avenue, between Mission and San Carlos, in Carmel. American Art Collector Magazine will feature a show preview article on Debra's exhibition in their June issue, which will hit newsstands in mid May.

Exhibition Opens at the Greenhouse Gallery in San Antonio, Texas, on April 10th at 10AM with a "Meet the Artists" Reception from 5 - 8PM that evening.

Mike came up with two ribbons at this years Estes Park International Plein Air event in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Mike won the Manny's of Denver's Award of Merit for his small 8 x 8 plein air study entitled, Noon Reflections at Nymph lake. T

Mike's Plein Air Painting Wins Carmel Art Festival

Mike Bagdonas's plein air painting, "Foggy May Morning" was awarded an Honorable Mention in this years Carmel Art Festival's Plein Air Competition in May. This painting is 20" x 20" on masonite. Mike was particularly proud of this painting in that on this foggy morning along the California coast just south of Rocky Point and north of Big Sur, the fog kept intermittently obscuring the entire scene. Thanks to a strong thumb nail graphite sketch of the scene at the very beginning Mike continued to paint. Mike said, "Even at the end the fog seemed to take over the scene as though nature was telling me it was time to quit".

National Paint The Parks Top 100 Competition

Mike Bagdonas had two paintings accepted into the National Paint The Parks Top 100 competition for 2008 sponsored by PaintAmerica. Two of his smaller paintings were also accepted into the second fifty of the Mini50 competition for 2008. Mikes two larger paintings in the Top 100 were both fall color scenes of Zion National Park and were studio paintings created from plein air studies in November 2007. The two paintings in the 2nd 50 of the Mini 50 competition were plein air paintings done also in 2007 in Grand Teton National Park and Yosemite National Park.
Mikes two larger paintings in the Top 100 Competition will be touring the country during the second half of 2008 and in 2009 at several prestigious venues. The travelling Exhibition will begin at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Louis, Missouri on August 1, 2008. Mike also had two paintings in the 2007 Top 100 competition show that just concluded their travels at the St George Art Museum in St George, Utah.
