Karen Vance is the feature artist on the cover of Landscapes of Colorado by Ann Scarlett Daley (Author), Michael Paglia (Author)
Landscapes of Colorado features the efforts of artists who have used the state's natural beauty as inspirations for their paintings and photographs. Art curator Ann Daley selected the artists. Some lived in Colorado only briefly, while others have spent their entire careers in the state. Daley also provides an essay linking each artist to the impressive history of Colorado, where for over a century painters and photographers have been attracted to its magnificent views and its crisp, clear light.
Art critic Michael Paglia provides a profile of each of the artists. In writing about them, he takes into account key experiences in their development, as well as analyzing their varying styles, the techniques they embrace, and places them in the broader context of landscape art. The artists found in Landscapes of Colorado display a wide range of aesthetic approaches from neotraditional to contemporary realist.
Landscapes of Colorado is an overview of the rich vein of contemporary art in Colorado.
This overview of the rich vein of contemporary art in Colorado highlights the varied work created in response to the natural beauty of the state.

The saga of the Meet the Artist Night actually started Thursday Morning with Karen Vance's trip to the "Good Morning America" Show. We then had a very productive 2 hour meeting from 2-4 with a more complete run down on that coming up. Dinner at the club house afterwards came off amazingly well considering the staff was anxious to get home by the time we started. Karen toasted your's truely and Janice presented me with a plaque from the group so I wanted to thank you both/all for that. All that computer training is starting to pay off :-) There were many discussions on almost any topic. One of the joys of meeting someone with whom you've already had many discussions online, you hit the ground running when you meet up in person. Glen did a watercolor of the park which he had most everyone sign and which I received a day early because he thought he was leaving 7am on Sunday instead of 7pm - Thanks Glen. The next day we lined up and reconoitered for the painting in the park... I think the Fran and Dawn have a complete show ready to go to the gallery from their travels in the park. Though they did complain that the Bethesda Fountain was difficult.
