Schlesier is represented by several galleries including Judith Hale, Zantmans of Carmel and Villas and Verandas in So California.
This painting was done with the aid of photographs taken in the wilderness of the interior of British Columbia. Painting on location would have been near impossible due to the freezing temperatures making the oil paints and my hands unworkable. I frequently visit the Sierras and have painted in very cold conditions, but this was way beyond that. I enjoyed painting the cold as an alternative to the warm paintings I usually paint living in Southern California. In this painting my wish was to capture the bitter cold and the awesome, rugged beauty of this place.
