The work of Richard McDaniel is found in corporations, universities, medical centers, and museums throughout the U.S. and in numerous private collections. Over 50,000 books on his art have been sold worldwide; his latest book is "ON LOCATION: Plein Air Painting in Pastel." Several articles on Richard's work have been published, and he is listed in Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the World. McDaniel earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in painting at the University of Notre Dame.
There is a small island off the coast of Maine that has an abundance of spectacular scenes waiting to be painted. For this image I found a spot where I could set up my pochade box just to the side of the coastal path. A few people passed by, stopped briefly for a friendly greeting, then hiked on.
