The outdoor still life is a daunting subject, but so much fun. I paint an hour and half each day at exactly the same time so the light will be relatively the same. It took six painting sessions to complete the work. I have to paint the flowers fast and try to get them captured the first day. The rest I can work a little slower and can change the fruit out if necessary. It was hot and humid so I set up in the shade with a fan. Always spinning through my head while I painted was the beautiful song from Porgy and Bess, Summertime, hence the name,...And the Livin' is Easy.
