In 2007 Mike had two paintings accepted into the National Paint The Parks Top 100 competition, had one of only five landscapes to receive an award in the Salon International Competition in San Antonio, Texas and received an Artists Choice Award in the Estes Park Plein Air Event in Colorado. This painting was completed from a small plein air study and a photograph last autumn in Zion National Park.
